It was good you also saw those nutters. The restraints they seemed to be imposing just to protect their cult, I mean religion, RELIGION, were breathtaking. I wonder if, like other religions, it will evolve and adapt in a more "acceptable" form, retaining the positive aspects while losing that obsessive-jihadist edge that the guy in the Panaroma documentary seemed to have. They already seem to have ditched a lot of that space alien imagery
 

The problem I have with the self-proclaimed religion is that it attempts to fuse science, whether it be psychology, e-meters or out-right rediculous space invaders, with faith. While I hold no bias for one against the other, I think it is pure hipocrisy to claim to be both. Its sci-fi gizmo like the e-meter holds no scientific value and its faith-based stories like the existence of "body thetans" are more unbelieveable because its author has been far more well documented in modern history than any author of say the bible or Koran. Added to claims that they practice charlatanism, surely the exploitation of its followers are more akin to a cult than a religion of good faith.
